Stone Group fills 321 seats for a charity premiere of Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Soccer
On premiere day, 13 August 2026, we booked out a full 321-seat hall at GSC Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru and gave every seat away — a community charity screening of Kung Fu Soccer 功夫女足, the new football film from a director our founder has admired his whole life.
A full house, given away
Some evenings are not about property. On Wednesday night our team welcomed families, children and neighbours from across Johor Bahru into a hall we had reserved end to end — 321 seats, every one of them free. The film was Kung Fu Soccer 功夫女足, Stephen Chow's return to the football comedy that made generations laugh, released that very day. Watching a packed hall cheer together was, for all of us, the best picture of what 'community' means.
Why a property developer buys out a cinema
Our business is homes in Johor — but a home is only as good as the community around it. Giving back is part of how we operate: this screening was our thank-you to the people of Johor Bahru who have supported our story, organised together with our agency partner MIL.ES. It will not be the last. If you joined us on the night — thank you for the laughter, and enjoy the show meant every word.
Growing wealth everyday — and giving some of it back
